MY FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS CHOICES IN BARILOCHE
Eating is always an important part of a trip -well, at least it´s for me!- so I always ask my friends for recommendations ahead. I like to know what type of food is offered, how´s the service and of course, the ambiance. This references sometimes work well, sometimes not. So, on my last trip to Bariloche some friends that use kind of locals and we went to many great restaurants. Here are my fave 2 restaurants: I not only recommend them: I wouldn´t hesitate to go back.
IL GABBIANO: SOPHISTICATED ITALIAN FLAVOURS LIVE IN PATAGONIA
This incredible Italian restaurant is very well known for its coziness, its fresh food and the warmest atmosphere that one finds inside. Located on Avenida Bustillo, this beautiful house, provides with a quiet environment and although it´s not a big place and there are few tables, you won´t feel intruded by others chatting. Il Gabbiano is not a “trattoria”, it´s a synonym of fine dining: the food is elegant and the owner is always there to welcome you in person.
Every detail has been taken care of to make guests feel at home. From the decoration of the tables, scattered with roses petals to the fine dishware and the soft lightining of the candles. Regarding the food, the menu is excellent, many people recommend the rabbit. I chose the salmon as I´m a big fish fan. It was tender, juicy and delicious. We share a dessert -chocolate is obviously always on the top of my list- so this brownie with citric ice cream was the perfect combination to end an unforgettable night! I would definitely go back!

TIP: reservations ahead (I mean many days ahead) are necessary. Or you won´t find an available table. Phone number: (+54-0294) 4448346 E-mail: email@example.com
LA MASÍA: FRENCH ROMANTIC ENVIRONMENT TO SHARE WITH YOUR LOVED ONE
This French bistro is runned and supervised directly by Marcia and Facundo, a nice young couple in their own home. He works in the kitchen while she takes care of the people. Everything impecable and with great taste. It only has 5 tables, so make reservations and don´t show up informally (phone number on the pic above). If you have a chance to go there on summer you´ll probably enjoy one of the best sunsets overlooking the Nahuel Huapi Lake (unfortunately I went in autumn, so I missed it).
The food is great, is cooked in the moment and with accent on local ingredients, like honey, mushrooms and herbs from the area. We shared an appetizer: a fresh green salad with sautedd mushroom (superb!) and we both asked for the filet de boeuf with potatoes (I love that mix!): it came with the perfect cooking point, I could cut the meat with the fork only!. My dessert: as I already have had chocolate the night before, I took the risk and ordered figs with brie cheese and honey. It turned an amazing combination: I thought I was almost in paradise.
If you follow my recommendations, I would love to hear what you think about them!
